Ray Bourque scored 5 points during his rookie season with the Boston Bruins, instantly becoming one of the greatest defensemen of all-time and winning the 1979-1980 Calder Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year, and being named a 1st Team All-Star for the first time of 12 such honors, (most in NHL history) and he was also named a 2nd Team All-Star 6 other times. Ray played in 19 consecutive All-Star games, a league record. He is the Boston Bruins all-time career leader in games played, assists and points. is 1,579 points are the most ever by a defenseman and he is the all-time leader in goals scored by a defenseman with 410. H won the Norris Trophy 5 times, and his final hockey game ever in 2001, Ray won his 1st ever Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche and then retiring. In 2004, Ray Bourque was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
