Known as Mr. Tiger, Al Kaline is the most popular player to ever put on the Detroit Tigers uniform. His career spanned from 1953-1974, every game played in a Tigers uniform. At the age of 20, Al became the youngest player to ever win a batting title when he hit .340 in 1955, with 27 homeruns, 102 BI's and 121 runs scored. He also led the league that season with his 200 hits and 321 total bases. He led his team to the 1968 World Series Championship while batting .379 with 2 homeruns and 8 RBI's in his only World Series appearance. During his career, Mr. Tiger was named to 15 All-Star games, won 10 Gold Gloves, batted over .300 9 times, had 3,007 hits, 399 HR, and 1,583 RBI's. Al was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980. Al Kaline shares the record of 10 Gold Glove awards won by an outfielder.
