A.B. Chandler was better known by his nickname Happy Chandler. Happy Chandler became the 2nd Baseball Commissioner in the history of the game in 1945, which he remained in until 1951. He was also the 44th Governor of Kentucky from 1935-1939 and the 49th Governor of Kentucky from 1955-1959. He served as United States Senator from Kentucky from 1939-1945. He also served in WWI from 1918-1919. In 1982, Happy Chandler was inducted into The Baseball Hall of Fame.
